I may have already said on here, and certainly elsewhere, that every right and every left turn in my life has started with one precise thought: I’ve got an idea.
The other day, as I was thinking of cooking and Christmas cooking, as already amply discussed, Nigella’s yule log came to mind. The idea. Don’t ask me how that’s even possible as I had never attempted it before but I decided there and then that I would on Christmas Eve. Today.
I was actually rather certain it would turn into a disaster. It actually did not. Not even close to a disaster. And I am both amazed and pleased. I can now kick back and wait for Santa with a stack of different crisps and a smirk on my face. By the way, the log is under lock and key in my study because dogs.
